This year we will have a total of 7 events. Each event will be a four round Swiss tournament with a time control of 15+5. Points will be collected throughout the summer with each player\u2019s top 5 performances counting towards their Grand Prix total. The tournaments will take place during normal Friday evening meetings and are open to all Bexhill chess club members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dates will be as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grand Prix 1: May 15th 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grand Prix 2: June 5th 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grand Prix 3: June 26tth 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grand Prix 4 :July 17th 2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grand Prix 5: August 7th 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grand Prix 6: August 28th 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grand Prix 7: September 18th 2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each member is welcome to play in as many or as few events as they like. However the top five scores will contribute to a player\u2019s Grand Prix total.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Awards for a variety of performance measurements are under consideration following the reduction from 10 to 7 events this year. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rating aspects depending on ECF category of membership is also being reviewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Registration for each event will be at 7pm prompt. With rounds commencing at approximately  7.15, 7.55, 8.35 and 9.15.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We will try to publish an\/or update the results of each Grand Prix and the ongoing Grand Prix tables promptly  on this Bexhill chess club website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the event of ties, the tie-break process should be clarified in due course.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This season Bexhill will once again be offering a series of ECF-rated rapid events that will make up our summer Grand Prix season.
