{"id":1358,"date":"2024-05-02T11:30:36","date_gmt":"2024-05-02T11:30:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bexhillchessclub.co.uk\/?p=1358"},"modified":"2024-05-02T11:30:36","modified_gmt":"2024-05-02T11:30:36","slug":"league-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bexhillchessclub.co.uk\/index.php\/2024\/05\/02\/league-results\/","title":{"rendered":"League results:"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bexhillchessclub.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG_9008-edited.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1360\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Match reports from our captain Bill Tracey:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday 26th April, two of our teams played at home in the Sussex leagues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our 1st team played Worthing 1 and our 2nd team played Sussex University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The evening saw two high quality and closely fought matches. Unfortunately for Bexhill we lost both matches by 2.5 to 1.5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the 1st team Mark, Andrew and Janis all drew.<br>Andy on board 2 played a fine game against a very highly rated player and the game looked set for a draw but unfortunately Andy made a very uncharacteristic error and although he fought on really well he eventually had to concede defeat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our board order for the 2nd team was Steve B, Bill L, Michael and myself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steve and I unfortunately both lost, Michael played very well for a draw and Bill L had a fine game and recorded a well deserved win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This was the last match match of the season for the 2nd team and I would like to thank all of the following club members for playing for the team:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Janis, Leo, Steve B, Steve M, Alan, T, Bill L, Michael, Bill T, Lawry, James and Ben.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bexhillchessclub.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/IMG_9009-edited.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1362\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Match reports from our captain Bill Tracey: On Friday 26th April, two of our teams played at home in the Sussex leagues.
