The GRAND PRIX  tourament series, for Club Members starts at 7.00 pm prompt on15 May. Further dates are in Bill&#8217;s message below. Further updates on Summer events will follow after yhe planning is resolved<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Hello All,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now that the Sussex League has been completed our summer events will shortly get underway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday 15th May our Grand Prix no.1 will commence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This tournament consists of seven rounds running from mid May to the end of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All rounds will be on a Friday evening, and each round will consist of four games with a time control of 15 minutes plus five seconds increments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To qualify for any of he prizes on offer a member must play in a minimum of 5 of the rounds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is no requirement to pre enter simply turn up on the night. We will aim to start at 7.15pm so please arrive promptly at 7pm to register.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These games will be rated. So a reminder of the ECF policy on rating games:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li> Anybody can play in 3 rated games in a season and the ECF will not charge. If how ever someone plays in 4 or more games in a season the ECF will charge a one off fee of \u00a320 to rate the games.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>My advice is to be a member of The ECF to avoid this . If you choose to join the ECF , bronze membership will cover our competitions, gold membership will cover you to play in other tournaments such as the world famous Hastings Congress.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The dates are as follows <strong>May 15th. June 5th,June 26th July 17th, \u00a0August 7th, \u00a0August 28th, and Friday 18th September.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to The Grand Prix, there will be approximately 6 other events on Friday evenings during the summer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These dates will be announced shortly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Details will also be posted on our website in the near future. Please check our <strong>calendar <\/strong>regularly for all dates.
