{"id":701,"date":"2023-03-02T17:01:04","date_gmt":"2023-03-02T17:01:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bexhillchessclub.co.uk\/?p=701"},"modified":"2023-03-02T17:04:37","modified_gmt":"2023-03-02T17:04:37","slug":"bexhill-3-flying-high","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bexhillchessclub.co.uk\/index.php\/2023\/03\/02\/bexhill-3-flying-high\/","title":{"rendered":"Bexhill 3 flying high!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bexhillchessclub.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/5B259A05-FB6A-4CB3-9E80-D05B6CACF4FF-1024x768.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-702\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On Friday 28th February Bexhill 3 travelled to Horsham to take on their 4th team in Division 3 of the Mid Sussex League.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were hoping to maintain our 100% record in the Division, and, I am&nbsp;pleased to say, we did with a resounding 4 to 0 win.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steve Merchant, was first to finish on board 3, when he comprehensively out played his opponent in the&nbsp; endgame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bill Luxton on board 1 continued his outstanding season for the 3rd team by checkmating his opponent for his 6th win from 7 games<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Derek Cosens on board 4 found an excellent tactic that won a Bishop, and he maintained his&nbsp;lead into the endgame and forced a resignation from his opponent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On board 2 I, like Derek, found a tactic to win a Bishop and also maintained this advantage into the endgame and eventually my opponent resigned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We now have 2 league matches and one more win will secure the top spot. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Friday 28th February Bexhill 3 travelled to Horsham to take on their 4th team in Division 3 of the Mid Sussex League.
