PROMISING STARTS CONTINUE, STRENGTH IN DEPTH SHOWING (Editor) – BILL TRACEY’s match report follows:
This local derby was played at Eastbourne on Friday 21st November.
Eastbourne have made an excellent start in Division 4 winning 2 and drawing 1 of their first 3 matches.
Our team of Jo, Bill L, Michael and Alan came away with an excellent win by 3.5 to .5
Jo continued his fine early season form by winning on board 1.
Bill also continued his good form this season by winning with black on board 3.
Michael faced the Eastbourne captain and gained a good draw.
Alan on board 4 played at his usual high tempo and emerged a worthy winner.
It is, of course, early days for the 5th team but 2 wins from 2 matches by a combined score of 6.5 to 1.5
is a fine start and hopefully it can be maintained in our next match on December 5th at home to East Grinstead Bookshop.
