We try to cater to all levels and all ages as best we can.
Whilst we cannot offer formal coaching sessions , individual members will usually be willing to offer tips , guidance, explanation, analysis 1:1 in the course of normal social play.
A parent or responsible adult should accompany the child at all times, because we do not have a policy that members should have DBS background checks. There is currently no charge for juniors to play at the club.
We fully believe in the magic of chess and the many benefits it can offer to children of all ages. It has been proven to:
- Improve concentration and memory
- Enhance reading and Maths skills
- Fosters logical/ critical thinking
- Develops creativity
- Encourages and rewards hard work
