GORDON CUP PRESENTATION
A chess- playing rivalry going back 60 years to school chess club at Grove School reached its peak as the final elimination round of the Gordon Cup was played out last month. Pictured below is runner-up David Slidell receiving his award from Chairman Bill Tracey yesterday.
And, of course, below , the winner, David Pratt, who is delighted to have finally clinched the trophy after 10 years of battling in this championship section.
( epic stuff, as long as the Trojan War!)
David and David remain the best of friends and are keen competitors on most Tuesday sessions where there is generally our highest level of regular club attendance.
